Our mission is to revolutionize the way Li is extracted from water. With our novel technology, we can purify the Li in any water source, allowing for sustainable extraction at a fraction of the conventional cost.

Who are we?
Founding Team
Green Li Extraction Technologies is a new spin out company from Tel Aviv University, aiming to revolutionize the lithium extraction industry. Our first product we're bringing to market is the Li-selective greenLi membrane.
Eitan | CTO Eitan Benson is the CTO and co-founder of GreenLi. It was at the end of his PhD at Tel Aviv University that he led the development of a novel system composed of three unique Li extraction technnologies. Eitan has years of experience in IP and innovation consultancy, and is also a licensed patent attorney.
Hadas | CSO Professor Hadas Mamane is the head of the School of Environmental Engineering at Tel Aviv University. Hadas also leads the Water and Energy lab, a multi-disciplinary research group specializing in water treatment technologies.
Gal | Chairman Gal Zohar is a senior executive in the water industry, with decades of experience in commercial and infrastructure industries related to water, desalination, aquaculture, and mining.
Purifying Lithium in Water
The greenLi membrane can separate Li from other ions dissolved in water, removing more than 85% of Ca, Mg, Na, and K in each pass, whilst nearly doubling the concentration of Li. With this powerful Li-enrichment, and regardless of the type of water used as a lithium source, the greenLi membrane can truly revolutionize lithium extraction.

Brine Mining
Employing the greenLi membrane allows for a drastic reduction in both chemical purification costs and time spent in evaporation ponds. Most excitingly, by generating a Li-free reject brine, operations using the greenLi membrane can re-inject into brine aquifers, maximizing the Li yield without compromising the environment, or commitments to environmental regulation.

Lithium Refining
The waters used to clean and process lithium ore in refining processes contain a high concentration of Li, among other ions, and are often simply discarded. With the greenLi membrane, this waste stream is transformed into a valuable resource.

Geothermal Operations
The greenLi membrane is stable at elevated temperatures, and does not reduce the heat energy contained in geothermal brines before re-injection, allowing its application to produce a high purity Li-enriched permeate, providing an additional revenue stream for geothermal energy operations.

Desalination
Leveraging the high throughput volumes of commercial desalination, the greenLi membrane can generate a Li-enriched permeate from seawater, providing a near limitless source of lithium for the future battery industry.
